Malshej Ghat is an incredibly scenic mountain region in the Western Ghats, best known for its misty mountains and myriad waterfalls during the monsoon months. Malshej is also a base for treks to the Harishchandragad massif. Rain, mist, fog and the cascading waterfalls amidst of woody forest together form the refreshing and fascinating Malshej falls. A countless number of downward waterfalls adorn the exceptional beauty of the ghat. Some waterfalls are so huge that they fall down onto the road. The site is home to hundreds of different kinds of flora and fauna especially the avian population such as quails, rails, crakes, flamingos and cuckoos.
